There comes a point during your custodianship of a Land Rover Defender when you realise something important – four or five weeks in, it hits you. Until then you smile at the Tonka toy styling and wonder at how supremely well this tall, heavy brute contains its mass along inviting ribbons of B-road. Sooner or later, though, the penny will drop.
If you’ve read Andrew’s earlier reports, you’ll know how much he enjoyed his time with The Intercooler’s Defender long-term test car. It stayed with him for three months or so before seeing out its time with us at my place, and when Andrew delivered it to me he did so with a smile – though I know he was sorry to see it go.
