I saw a Maserati Bora streaking along the Mall in London the other day, nipping past the traffic until its driver – making the most of going down the gearbox – had to stop at the roundabout in front of Buckingham Palace.
How good it was to see that lovely Giugiaro-designed shape, with the sun glinting on its stainless-steel roof, and to hear that sonorous 4.7-litre V8 again. I hoped the tourists ogling the Palace appreciated it as much as I did. One of the policemen at the lights caught the driver’s eye and nodded approval.
