Dear Colin, Why didn’t you end up talking about cars on television like many of your car journalist mates? Tom Sawney
Dear Tom,
Well, I’ve never been asked to for one thing. I’d say no anyway. I have enough money to enjoy all the things that I like in life and having lots more wouldn’t improve things substantially. In fact, it could shorten my life because if I was as rich as my TV mates I’d buy a Can-Am McLaren M8F and probably spanner myself in the thing.
Then of course there’s the lack of peace. I don’t do the simple things with James May that we used to do, like hang out at the RAF museum at Hendon, because the photo taking and being stopped for a chat is incessant and ruins the day.
